Another step forward to becoming more Sustainable
Another step forward to becoming more Sustainable.
We at Nine Group have made it a goal for the next coming years to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible by looking at innovation of products, packing and the way we deliver our goods to our clients.
With the knowledge that 7 million tonnes of cardboard is wasted to landfill in the UK every year, Nine Group made the decision to try and change the way in which we deliver goods and services.
To reduce our impact towards this statistic, we have recently introduced and are currently rolling out the use of reusable plastic totes for delivery of goods.
These totes are made from recycled plastic and are able to reduce our use of cardboard boxes by an astonishing figure. Our clients receive their items in the totes on our fleet and keep them until we return with another order or collect when next passing. The totes are then brought back to our head office to be cleaned and sanitised before being used again.
Not only does this new system allow us to be more sustainable, but it allows our clients to be as well, bringing down their waste of carboard and therefore carbon emissions needed to remove said waste from their facility.
So far, this system has not only improved our sustainability, but has made the picking and packing of products more efficient, meaning our clients get their goods even faster, as warehouse staff no longer needs to assemble, package, and secure the cardboard boxes, but simply pack the items into the reusable boxes and seal the lid.
We are looking to roll this system out to more of our clients as Nine Group expands and evolves. Nine Group is very conscious of our impact on the environment and are constantly looking for ways to help reduce carbon footprints with both our own company and our clients.
